What are the effects of reading partnerships on the reading lives of boys in grades 6-12?
Our research will investigate the potential benefits of reading partnerships in fostering healthy reading habits among male students. As middle and upper school librarians, we have observed a decline in reading for pleasure among male students as they transition to higher grade levels, particularly 9-12. We hypothesize that factors such as increased academic workload, extracurricular activities, and other societal pressures may contribute to this decline. By exploring the impact of different partnership models (peer, teacher, and parent), we hope to identify effective strategies for promoting reading engagement among middle and high school boys.

Our research question is: What are the effects of reading partnerships on the reading lives of boys in grades 6-12?
